What to Expect:
The mediation process begins with an intake interview by phone or in person. This interview will determine whether your case is appropriate for mediation.
At the initial session all parties will be present. Then, during the course of mediation we will meet with the parties either together or individually as required. Meeting times and locations are flexible.
In the working sessions we will determine the particular area or areas of conflict and objectively help you work out a solution that meets the needs of both parties. In some cases, this may include written agreements.
The process can entail one session or it may require multiple sessions based on the needs of the parties.
Fees:
Our fees will depend upon the amount of time required to resolve the issues. No fee is charged for the first half hour of the initial meeting after which we determine whether all parties want to proceed. A mediated divorce typically costs significantly less than a litigated divorce.
